Oh, Loki… that is just dreadful.

No insult, your fandom is your own I just don’t see what’s so cool about it and the fans weird me out worse than Bleach fans. » And growing up in the boonies where Red-tails roost… yeah, you get to know that sound.

Personally, I think Homestuck is the most wonderful webcomic I’ve ever read. It has unique concepts, well developed characters, a cornucopia of silly AND serious moments, and a complex plot that keeps me guessing. Not to mention that the music kicks ass.
The fandom seems to be predominantly young, as in early teens (understandable, as most of the characters are around the age of 13-15). Most of us were pretty icky around that age. They just have some growing to do. But I know a lot of people from that fandom that are pretty awesome individuals. (justlikeacheesestick, THIS MEANS YOU)

Still can’t do Homestuck. Bleh. and honestly I don’t get the Caw Caw thing, hawks screech. »
I’m going to pretend you didn’t say the first thing because RUDE

Posted a Cracked article that mentions it… but the Ultimates universe is essentially where the Movieverse takes its cues from, and he’s notorious for it in that series. As for other evidence, marvel.wikia.com/Henry_P…
The movieverse may have parallels with the Ultimates verse, but they’re still separate universes. I am kind of in denial because I just really dislike Ultimates. I don’t like to take anything from any universe strictly gospel for the movieverse. It’s a separate universe.
And I don’t see any mention of his prejudices in the article, so the jury is out on that for now.
The bottom line is: I see a lot of myself in Henry Pym. I have a great deal of affection for this character. I don’t think anything is going to change that for me.
I guess I feel sympathetic because people focus on the bad things he’s done, over looking the good things he’s done. That’s pretty much the story of my entire social life.
thelovelyamora replied to your post: ENOUGH about Henry Pym being a wife beater already!
Heyhey, didn’t say Hank Pym isn’t an awesome character in his own right. I just can’t stand him as a person. He’s also racist/bigot against both mutants *and* other human ethnicities. Haven’t I told you I know this stuff?
Well, I haven’t seen this for myself (yet) and I’m always hesitant to take someone’s word for it. It’s nothing personal, I’m just a skeptic when it comes to hearing negative things about people.
If you can show me examples of that behavior with some sources, that would be very much appreciated. ouo

Also Ant Man is a huge dick who smacks Jan around regularly. *shrug*
HEY from what I’ve read, that was one time! Unless you count the Ultimates universe but let’s not even go there.
I hate that people are so hyper-focused on that character flaw. Yes, Hank Pym assaulted his wife, Jan, but that doesn’t make him a bad person. He did something that he took responsibility for and deeply regrets.
Tony Stark is an alcoholic and a playboy. He actually hooks up with Jan not even a month after she divorced Hank. But people still adore him! It hardly gets mentioned at all, while poor Hank has one thing from the 80’s brought up over and over again!
Also, read this brief article on how that whole “wife beater” story line came to be.
I love Henry Pym as a character. Beneath everything that’s happened to him and everything he’s done, he has good intentions and is a passionate scientist. He just wants to make the world a better place because of what happened to him with his first wife, Maria.
I can’t not love that.
