I’M DONE WITH MY ALTERNATE EXAM!

24 hour Hiatus

Tomorrow, it’s not likely I’ll be on tumblr.

I’ve been struggling to get one of my professors to accept my final exam. He has refused to do so because when I submitted the exam electronically, the file became corrupted and he couldn’t open it. It wasn’t until a week later when I checked my email that I saw the message he sent me asking for an uncorrupted version of my final exam.

I sent a new file to him, and he emailed me the next day saying he couldn’t accept it because “it wouldn’t be fair to the other students in the class.”

My dad and I have been arguing with him back and forth all month trying to get him to take it, and he just fucking /won’t/.

He did, however, give me a fucking terrible alternative:

Take an alternate final exam.

This professor’s original exam was so demanding that it gave me serveral panic attacks, and I would rather tear my own hair out than take another one, but I want to improve my grade.

So basically, I will be working all day tomorrow to take a second exam.

I’ll probably spend 60% of that time having anxiety related breakdowns.

I don’t want to do this god damn it.

Anyone up for discussion?

I really want to hear what ANYBODY has to say about the age of consent on Asgard because I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around it!

(but for real you are on my buddylist on skype that gives you open permission to respond to just about anything I post)

That’s very good to know. 

Generally I tend to operate under some pretty strict rules when it comes to the age of consent. For a lot of cultures, that age tended to hover around 15, so for Asgard storylines, I like to use it, as it seems like a decent age. 

In my thinking, 15 presents the coming of age ceremony, when boys will be first sent off to prove themselves on some quest, usually given by the father or by the wise figurehead of the village/town. For Loki, this would mean Odin would give it to him (as well as to his other boys). 15 is too young for stuff really big, so they’d be allowed to take with them one person who has already passed this test, of their choosing. Upon returning successfully with proof of their valor and manhood, there would be much feasting to celebrate, and then the boy would be given leave to return to his chambers for the second half. 

Here is where they would lose their maidenheads, so to speak. In my headcannon, a woman either hired on as consort or given to the throne as a gift from another kingdom (sometimes more than one woman if the boy was particularly awesome at passing his test) would be waiting in their quarters. After all, you’re not a man until you’ve been blooded and lain with a woman. (In their thinking)

The female side of the consent laws would probably be fairly different, but for logic’s sake I like to keep them at 15 as well before they’re eligible to be married. Women vikings were tough, so she too would be given a task set by the father to go off and perform, and a successful return would be a great deal of partying and drinking and eating… however, its more likely that her maidenhood would be preserved until marriage. A daughter is much more valuable if she’s in tact when given to a husband (usually to secure truces, land, get a better place in society for her family, etc etc etc). Its a double standard… but hey, its a really really old culture. 

Age of consents would be held as rather important. Someone molested under that age would be considered a most heinous crime and probably punishable by the spilled blood of the offender. They adhered to their laws very closely, and almost always violently…. to even dishonor a woman in public could be grounds for a family blood feud. 

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head, but those are the general guidelines I use when roleplaying as Loki.
